new laptop!
Jul. 1st, 2024 08:55 pmI have not really been writing because I haven't wanted to do so on my work laptop, and I got annoyed trying to do it on my tablet. Well, now I finally have a new laptop. The first thing I did, after setting up my various apps and accounts how I want, was to go catch up on my Seattle school board drama research. There is simply not enough time for all of the research I need to do in my life.
K and I have been doing discernment counseling and decided to attempt to reconcile. We have this list of action items, things we want to try and change or better about ourselves in service of improving our relationship. So for 6 months I am committed to working toward this reconciliation, and seeing where it gets us. I am cautiously optimistic. The goal, supposedly, isn't necessarily to completely reconcile. It is to make the best possible faith attempt to, and to see if there's been any movement in any direction at the end of the 6 month period. At that point, you reassess and decide if you want to continue to move into the relationship, or in theory, you're in a better place to end it with fewer bad feelings and a better strategy for co-parenting and whatnot.
I have no idea how it will go. But I'm willing to try it. K and I have been getting along a lot better. Things still aren't perfect, but I'm up for seeing where this goes.
My mom is coming next week and that is going to be stressful. I'm not sure how much she's going to like staying in the basement ADU, it definitely still feels like a basement despite the previous owners of this house attempting to make it seem like a rentable apartment. But, she would find something to complain about no matter what, so in a sense I suppose it's nice to know what it will be about.
Anyway, more later. Just was excited to actually be able to type on a keyboard! woohoo!
