Mother’s Day has somehow become yet another event that I have to plan around husband k. Originally we were all just going to do nothing which would have been preferable to this.

In other news, a big day for kiddo today. First karate tournament. More than that, first time performing in front of a big audience, first time seeing a friend win a medal and not winning anything himself. It was tough. I’ve spent much of my life avoiding such situations, or only doing the ones I enjoy and feel good at. Parenting is a real trip, reliving all the shit you put behind you and had not thought about on purpose for years. Also when they spar those kids hit to hurt! I get it’s a martial art but damn seeing someone beating up on your kid is tough. Even when it’s refereed and we all chose to be there. 

in other news is it’s 80 degrees and sunny, cocktail time.
